[PLEASE READ] Cute, capable, and crafty in Calgary, Canada—that's charismatic Joan Leslie as beautiful ranch foreman and rodeo competitor "Christine 'Honey' Johnson" in NORTHWEST STAMPEDE (1948). "And, truth to tell, she lights up well" in her first starring role in a color Western movie and only her second screen appearance after her principled revolt against and departure from Warner Bros. This is the complete movie—full of charm, beauty, conflict, and spirited action in the great Canadian outdoors. Strapping James Craig plays the restless hero; Jack Oakie and Chill Wills lend their inimitable talents to comedic, but caring supporting roles; an elusive white stallion ("Blizzard") and resourceful German Shepherd mix ("Flame the Wonder Dog") also feature prominently. In my opinion, no other actress in Hollywood history could better project high self-esteem than Miss Joan Leslie. I submit as evidence her performance in this movie--just one eloquent example among many in her career. I upload this video in her honor. Paul Sawtell—one of the great composers/music supervisors for many successful American television series of the 1950s and 1960s [e.g. HAWAIIAN EYE; VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA]—supplied the pretty and evocative original soundtrack for this film. NOTE: I think it is fair to say NORTHWEST STAMPEDE is a "forgotten classic"—in no small part because its distribution has never been associated with a major film or television studio. I consider this YouTube upload one way to redress this movie's unfortunate neglect, hoping that greater visibility online will ultimately lead to public and/or professional demand for its digital restoration (and subsequent distribution). If you are either contemplating or actively involved with such a project, please contact me. NOTE: This is a video upload of goodwill and great admiration. Thoughtful comments and/or questions are welcome. If you are a professional and want credit I've neglected to give OR prefer that I delete this video, please contact me and it will promptly be done. Thank you.

VHS release of the 1984 treasure hunting puzzle: "Treasure: In Search of the Golden Horse" aka "TISOTGH". From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "Designed and promoted as a contest, the puzzle asked treasure seekers to solve the rebus contained within the story to find the location of a one kilogram gold horse statuette buried on public land somewhere within the continental United States. The puzzle itself was designed by puzzlemaster Dr. Crypton (Paul Hoffman). The first person to solve the puzzle and dig up the horse before the May 26, 1989 deadline would keep the horse and an additional $500,000 USD locked in a safe deposit box to be opened by a key hidden within the statuette. The solution was designed to be obtainable by either reading the book or watching the video(s), as all puzzle formats were considered exclusive of each other, albeit sharing certain similarities. The rules of the contest were overseen by the independent advertising agency, D.L. Blair. Although the promoters of the contest claimed the rebus was solvable within the allotted time frame, this did not prove to be the case. The deadline passed without solution, and the prize was later donated to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America charity. Even though the puzzle deadline had passed... neither Paul Hoffman nor the promoters of the contest publicized the actual solution. Thus, many enthusiasts continued their attempts at solving it. ..." MONTANA SKY 2007 PLOT: Half-sisters Willa, Tess, and Lily Mercy are left their wealthy father's multimillion-dollar estate, including his Montana ranch, after his death. The only stipulation is that the women will have to live with each other for a year. Having never previously met, the three sisters, who have very different personalities, agree to the strange situation (mostly because each of their 1/3rd share is worth 8 million dollars), despite having reservations about their forced family 'reunion'. The biggest problem the women face, however, is the discovery of a saboteur in their midst. It seems that when their father died, he left some bitter enemies behind, enemies who would love to see his daughters fail. Now, in order to get what is rightfully theirs, the three siblings will have to work harder than ever before to clean up the mess their father left behind. During their trial, all three find love, and realize that maybe their situation wasn't such a bad thing after all. This is the second movie to feature Bob Wills, and it was made in 1941 just before Pearl Harbor. It's probably the biggest budget of any of his movies with some major stars at the time.. I also have a version with just the music from the movie posted here. But Bob gets to act a little in this. Enjoy. Thanks for subscribing.
